[besiege Wei to rescure Zhao—relieve the besieged by besieging the base of the besiegers] 戰(zhàn)國(guó)時(shí),魏國(guó)圍攻趙國(guó)都城,趙國(guó)向齊國(guó)求救,齊國(guó)乘魏國(guó)空虛,發(fā)兵攻魏,魏軍回救本國(guó),齊軍乘其疲憊,在桂陵(今山東菏澤)大敗魏軍,趙國(guó)因而解圍。后來用“圍魏救趙”來指類似的作戰(zhàn)方法
